Welcome to The Doha Singers

The Doha Singers is Qatar's longest-running amateur choir, tracing its roots back to 1993 when it was formed by Rev Ian Young. We bring a wide range of choral music to members and audiences alike.

We are a four-part adult choir (SATB) with a current membership of almost 60. Our repertoire is wide, with a mixture of modern and older pieces, jazzy and fun mixed with soft and beautiful - something for everyone!

We perform two main concerts each year, comprising largely festive music in December and a themed programme in May.  In recent years, we have shared the stage with the Doha Community Orchestra and the Doha Youth Choir as well as small ensemble groups such as Doha Strings.

Doha Singers will commence rehearsals again in September and we would be delighted to welcome some new members. If you are interested in joining us, please send an email to dohasingers@gmail.com or visit the website for further sign-up information.

We are also looking for a piano accompanist to play at the rehearsals/concerts. If you think you could help us out, please get in touch. Thank you.

Joining the Choir

New members are always welcome to sign up for the choir and we are particularly on the lookout for tenors and basses

For more information on rehearsals and how to join the choir, please go to the Join Us tab on top of this page.

Our next concerts

Our next concert is currently "date TBC".

Before lockdown, we had rehearsed material for a concert entitled, "Best of British" for which we were developing a repertoire which included Coldplay, Emily Sande, Oasis, Mumford and Sons, The Beatles, Bowie and more! We plan to pick this up as it was sounding fantastic.

If you would like to hear about our future concerts, please join our mailing list.

We’re social too!

I have had so much fun and many proud moments as a member of the Doha Singers. The friendships and memories I have made will be lifelong. I couldn't recommend a hobby more. — Lewis Polden, 19 Jan 2020
